Tomorrow starts Pet Dental Health Month. I started it early by having xrays, my gum cleaned out where I managed to push it down due to my vigorous need to chew, packed with antibiotic. While they were in there and I was of a diminished capacity (important if I ever am elected president), they cleaned the rest of my pearly whites and gave me a pawdicure.

My moms are not very happy with me.

I was very spacey last night.

I cannot chew on sticks, bottles or anything hard for a long time.

Defective.

However, my breath is great and I'm getting lots of attention.

smooches with sweet breath,

Missed me?

I was with my peeps in the 509.

I missed you and right now I miss my sister the most.

I was very tired when P. Joe dropped me off in Vancouver. I slept most of the way home on my back with all four paws up in the air. I was tired.

Now, I am driving everyone crazy, as is my mission in life.

Smooches and pictures to follow.

I am in Goldendale hanging with my peeps. I am having a good time especially with my sister.

However it is cold and since I'm not with my moms, I am not wearing my silly purple coat when walking.

I hope that they won't mind my projectile shedding when I return home.

Stay warm dudes.

I have an uncanny ability to ring my bell to go out right when my peeps either pour a hot cup of coffee or sit down to eat dinner.

Is that cool or what?

What is cooler is that next week I get to go see Phracey in Goldendale!

Oh, by the way, happy new year. Whatever that is about. All n.mom wanted was a tax deduction and I guess I don't count.

smooches,

This week I have been learning about teeth brushing and my tolerance to nasty tastes.

Poultry toothpaste - yummy, good with a bisquit chaser.

Berry blast toothpaste - ick.

Mint toothpaste - you are trying to kill me!

Too bad the vet is out of poultry toothpaste.

Then again, why are the strictures of human kind to put on basset hounds? Why must our breath be minty fresh? Maybe it is perfectly normal to smell like you just ate a fermented vole.

No dogs have complained about my breath, just n.mom.

I'll get back to you on the malt flavor.

I am completely confused by the indoor tree.

It has stuff on it and stuff under it and I'm not supposed to touch it or do anything.

Yeah right.

I was just told to leave it for the 90th time today.

I can't wait until that tree goes away and I get my chair back.

Hmm.

Where was I?

Right, my people sent me off to the kennel while they went in search of bonios and plastic bottles for me. I had a dandy time with my roommates - an Aussie cattle dog named Katy (yes, a female, whoo hoo) and a yellow lab named Sonic who kept me on my toes. I had fun and was very tired when I got home.

I guess I missed some weather. Good thing too, I don't think I like wind very much.

They brought a tree in the house. It confuses me. It also moves which really confuses me.

I am bigger and still really very much the man of the house. Even though they insist on calling me pet names instead of Ernest the man dog.

We're going to have to work on this.

More later, I need a nap.

I am part of a basset hound message board and we are having a holiday card exchange. It is so neat, my mom makes the card, pays for the card, writes the card, stamps the card, addresses the card and I get 50 cards in the mail.

Is this what being a boss is like?

I love the cards I am getting, my mailman Steve wanted to know why I was getting more cards than anyone else on the block.

When I run for President, I may make my mom chief of communications.

I also had many small children at my house yesterday. They screamed, petted me and I got to eat their cookies.

It was fun!

I am super wound up today, my moms have offered to take me to the Village to buy my sister's present.

I am nine months old today. So far this week, I have managed to destroy a library book and eat the cord on the soul sucking vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately, it still works.

Other than that, I am my normal angelic self.

rock on dudes.

I am anxiously awaiting the next snowfall.

I love snow, it tastes great and it is fun to walk in.

N.mom is concerned that soon I will want to go luging. I have no idea what she means.

In the meantime, please check out some new pictures of me that were taken this past month.

Ernest in November.

Must go and start sniffing my many christmas cards.

My best friend, May 2006.

My moms say it is Thanksgiving and there is a lot to be thankful for.

I am thankful they are patient with me, even when I pee on things or ask to go out 40 times a day.

I am thankful that they take me for walks and to the v-e-t when I am feeling punky.

I am thankful that I have clean water, good quality kibble and lots of bottles to play with.

I am thankful they are teaching me what is right and wrong, even though it is confusing.

I am thankful that Buster lives a few doors up and I can visit him and his people are patient.

I am thankful that Phracey is my sister and that I can visit her.

I am thankful that you read my blog.

smooches,

Today I am eight months old. I can now down on command, stay home by myself for about an hour or so and climb into the lesser Stickley for a nap.

Life is good.

Happy 8th month birthday Phracey!

Not a very good shape for chewing.

I am feeling better, so much that I am driving NMom crazy.

Life is good.

Shape and texture, October 2006.
My moms went to Paris and brought me presents!

No bonios, no silly foofy french collars. They brought me toys!

Bottles, different shaped bottles for chewing and throwing.

I am so glad they are home. I am taking them on walks hourly.

It is a fine thing I am such a phlegmatic basset. My people are leaving for a few days in Paris and I'm rooming with a st. bernard or boxer at the AOCB.

To tell you the truth, I like it, dogs all over the place.

I hope they miss me.

I am taking part in celebrity death match with Buster from up the street. He's a tabby cat and he is mean, but I love him.

His people have moles and voles in their yard. That means they stand and inspect the holes every morning. I like it, it is very participatory.

Me, I have no idea if I would eat a mole if was presented to me, but I'll try.

later, taters.

There are bottles of sherry to roll around.

Resigned, Ernest the puppy, October 2006.

I am seven months old today. I am getting big, listening a little more and really really starting to look my dad.

Everyone thinks that I am a handsome boy.

I think I look good in green, don't you?
